Oxford walking

Oxford has long been regarded as one of the most pleasant cities in England and what could be a more enjoyable way of getting around Oxford whilst learning about its history than to take one of the many guided walking tours that are available.

Parents with young children usually find it impossible to get the kids involved in anything that involves walking or education but if you mentioned to them Lord of the Rings or The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, then their eyes would light up and they would be practically dragging the parents along. Part of the tour focuses on where J.R. Tolkien met with C.S. Lewis every week and offers an insight into the history of these men and what inspired them to write such classics.

Adults can also indulge in their favourite past-times by following in the footsteps of Inspector Morse and reliving some of the greater moments from that series.

The tour-guide is capable of speaking in four different languages (English, German, Danish and French) which will mean the tour is suitable for many foreign guests as well as English speaking visitors to Oxford wishing to spend a relaxing time learning about their holiday destination.
